Yaara grew up on Moshav Dor. She has completed a bachelors degree in education and international relations from Hebrew University and a masters degree with highest honors in environmental studies from Tel Aviv University. Today she is a Ph.D. candidate at the Technion with a focus on transportation planning. Yaara served as an education officer in the Israeli army and has worked as a high school teacher. Later she held positions in civil society, working at the Society for Protection of Nature in Israel and “Fifteen Minutes” an Israeli sustainable transport advocacy group. She was also the editor of the highly regarded “National Carrying Capacity, Israel 2050 Report” published by Zafuf in 2021. Today she lives in Haifa. Yaara is responsible for overseeing drafting and promotion of all legislation, parliamentary motions and preparation for hearings in Knesset committees. She also heads all initiatives involving transportation policy.
